WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME????

I’m feeling uninspired and listless. Maybe it’s just learning to deal without any ‘help’. I’ve backed off of my psych. meds in the hopes that I’ll do better au naturale. We’ll see. I have no insight today. Just going thru the motions. Need to get back to waking up early (before the heat) and walking. Feel so good after I do it. Made tacos today. Ate alot of fruit. Didn’t shower. That’s a bad habit- not showering. I really want to spend money on the walkway to the birdfeeder. Need more rocks from VH. Also some Slate. Then we can plant the ajuga and ferns. Next it’s time to divide the liriope and transplant them along the sidewalk. Also, need to keep an eye out for more liriope and texas red lantana for the sunbed. All in time and on a budget….

THE POOK

So, I’ve been witholding food from my Pookarelly this morning. She’s been spoiled by people food (my fault, sorry) and been refusing to eat her dog food. This little chit will hold out for days without eating! We’ve purposely stopped feeding her our scraps so that she will eat her own. But, man she’s stubborn.

This morning, trying to recoup from another sleepless night, I’m trying to catch some Z’s when I am awakened to the sound of her licking the butter dish on the kitchen counter!!! Oh, she’s in troubs, now.

I put her out in the backyard, and climbed back in bed. Hubby,seemingly oblivious, chimes in “is my pastrami sandwich still on the counter?” It isn’t. Is it? I go look, expecting a huge mess with ripped up paper and jalapenos all over the place. Surely she wouldn’t eat those!! Not a trace. I let her back in the house expecting her to burst any moment. (see, My Big Hot Pastrami kept me up all night with indigestion).

What the heck will it do to a 10 lb. Yorkie, if my Big Girl Body couldn’t handle it? She burps. I’m waiting for the mess……

Tizzle comes home for lunch and I’m telling her what we should be expecting from Da Friggins’ (that’s what she calls the dog)(whose name is “Jada”, but, aka Pook, Frickies, Pookarelly, Sweetigurl, and Tha Baby Girl)

Tizzzle looks at me and says “I ate it for breakfast”.

Whatta ya want for Dinner?

Our neighbor of 19 yrs. is trying to sue us. He built the fence and retaining wall 19 yrs. ago. It is falling down (duh, after 19 yrs.). We share the fence. He has sent us a Certified Letter stating that ‘our dirt is trespassing onto his property’. That he’s giving us ashort period of time to fix the problem, then he will proceed to sue us for the cost of replacement, and all legal fees. Now, we have tried to talk to him about sharing the cost of replacing the’fence’ portion, but not the retaining wall as we have to our upstairs neighbor. See he doesn’t have anyone on his downhill side- he’s on the corner lot. But he would not negotiate. In fact, he wants to move the property line 5-10 inches into our yard!!! How chicken-shit is that? That’s his new nick name- CHICKEN SHIT. Oh, and he’s 70 yrs old or older. I’m going to download his picture here someday when I learn how to do that. Where’s Judge Judy when you need her?

Anyways, can’t decide what to have for dinner……Chinese?

I can’t wait for DEXTER to start it’s new season. I know it’s wrong but, don’t some people just deserve to die? Living vicariously through him I suppose. Dexter fans know what I mean. Is he hot or what? I love the way he’s so good with Rita’s kids. A kinder, gentler serial killer. That’s what the world needs.

Garlic on Sunday

I’ve forgotten how good garlic smells while it slowly cooks in olive oil. Cooking in general is something I used to enjoy but haven’t done in a long while. Today I decided to cook some Clam Linguine- a fast easy recipe that impresses everyone. It’s a dump actually…sautee chopped garllic (as much as you dare) in evoo, add 1 bunch fresh chopped parsley, add 2 cans (drained) chopped clams, 1 large can crushed tomatoes, 1 can tomato paste, 1 can whole baby clams with juice and 2t. capers. Simmer for at least 20 min. (or longer) and serve over linguine with fresh romano cheese. So good and easy. Tastes better the next day after flavors have glommed onto each other. A simple pleasure we deserve.

Some Inner Thoughts

I am beginning a new chapter in my life. It may even be a new book. Feeling uninspired at this point- many thoughts run randomly through my head simultaneously. Like ideas in a blender, they swirl around my mind so quickly, I cannot sort them, organize them or express them. They are my constant companions- the commitee. Rarely do they recess but when they do, I can hear the voice of God. ‘I AM TEACHING YOU TO DEPOND UPON ME’ He said three times after I awoke and sat straight up in bed. That was eight years ago and I must continually remind myself that He is in control. Each new day brings challenges that I alone cannot meet. Letting go brings me peace. Crucifying my flesh is a process. Self-reliance failed.
